You can order business cards online

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Hi and welcome back.

Today we’ll go over how to get business cards quickly using the good old internet.

You may not know it, but ordering business cards online is pretty easy, very convenient,
extremely affordable and downright fun!  There are still great reasons to use a local printer, but if you want then you can visit a number of online printers any time of day or night, even right now.  This is really one great benefit over local printers.  If you have a brainstorm at midnight you can have your business cards ordered by 12:15am.

Here is how to do it:

Step 1 : On your mark!

One really great thing about the net is you can quickly shop for the best quality and price.  Unfortunately there are a lot of sites to choose from. Each has their own advantages, so it pays to check them all out.

Step 2 : Get set!

If you already have your own design in mind you may be ready to go, because many of the most popular printers allow you to upload your own design when you order business cards online.

If you don’t yet have a business card design in mind these sites also have dozens of business card templates to choose from.  Many of the templates are themed, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding something you would like.

Step 3 : Go!

After you have uploaded or chosen your theme, complete your card by filling in the information you want on your business cards, then continue through the order.  A few things to consider though: First, know that there will likely be a charge for shipping.  Second, sometimes you can get great deals on other related items as you go through the order process.

Step 4 : Wait, but not too long.  :)

Then all you have to do is wait a day or two and your shining new business cards will arrive in the mail, ready for you to start using.

Pretty simple huh!

Hope this helps and have a great day!
Mark

If the location is soft you will have to realize up front that purchasing a property for creative real estate investing will take some smarts. You do not want to have to restrict yourself to purchasing a house that you will need to live in. In which case, that means you buy a investment and occupy it until you turn it. In such a location you will really need to get an edge on the competition. You will not likely be able to sell it any higher than what the location can handle. This is why you need to acquire at a big discount to retain a good amount of money if you are attempting this the traditional way.

Is Hip Hop Really the Fad?

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

I don’t think I need to tell anyone this economy is troublesome and many people have been having a fairly tough time. I lost my job about 4 months back when the company where I was employed closed down 2 of their production lines and my bro in law, Barney got his final notice last month when his company announced that they were closing the doors forever.

Both of us had spent a fair period of time and effort on the lookout for new roles but with no luck. However, we were clear on the fact that we still needed earnings to pay our bills and support our families so Barney and i decided to go into business for ourselves.

We had no clear idea on what this business would be as my only real skill and experience was in manufacturing washing machines and Barney had worked as a quality controls inspector at a candy company. However, my young neighbor convinced us that rap music, rappers and that hip hop approach to life was the freshest growth trend in our country today. Now I must admit that both Barney and I agree the entire’rapper scene’ is just plain foolish but if it earns money then who are we to argue.

Somehow we made a decision to go after the jewellery segment of the hip hop market with the plan that we could start off rather small and just offer our merchandise for sale at flea markets until we could afford to open a real store. So, our next task was to find a wholesale hip hop jewelry outlet.

We quickly discovered we had a serious problem in that we used to be a new business with no track record and no credit report which suggested that nobody would sell us any inventory apart from money. They were all extraordinarily polite to reassure us that credit terms would be available after we were established but it was all going to be cash on delivery at the start. We started scrambling then to find personal loans with no credit check.

Well, we finally got our funding together. Not especially as much as we wanted but enough to at least buy some starter inventory and get the project rolling and we had also found some promising wholesale outlets that we believed we could deal comfortably with. However, none of these wholesale vendors was in out town so we were going to want to go which meant making airline and hotel reservations.

Getting the airline reservations was very easy and most of the hotels now subscribe to some type of online booking engine that made dealing with them also pretty simple.

Tax Issues For New Business Owners Paying Self Employment Tax

Friday, September 25th, 2009

When you begin a new business endeavor, it may take some time before you are “in the black” earning taxable income form your efforts. Once you are, however, your earnings will be subject to self-employment tax, as well as income tax. Self-employment tax is the tax a business owner must pay on income that parallels FICA, the Social Security payroll tax.

FICA tax is paid only on employees. If you are a sole proprietor, or shareholder in an S Corporation of LLC, it is unlikely that you are treated as an employee. In these situations, the income you derive from your business is passed directly through the business to you as the owner, and you are not subject to payroll taxes. Instead, the IRS requires you to make up for this difference via the self-employment tax.

An exception to this requirement applies to owners of corporations, typically called “C-Corporations”, that do not pass through income directly to their owners, but are taxed as a corporate entity. In this case, there is no self-employment tax. Income passed through a C Corporation to an owner is either in the form of a taxable dividend or to the owner as an owner-employee. In the latter case, payroll taxes must be withheld just as they are for any other employee. In either case, there is no self-employment tax to pay.

When self-employment tax is due, the tax is calculated as follows:

  • Social Security: 12.4% of the first $97,000 of self-employment earnings;
  • Medicare: 2.9%: on all self-employment earnings. There is no cap on the Medicare portion of the self-employment tax

Start a Cleaning Business in Your Spare Time

Monday, September 21st, 2009

There are many businesses out there that you could start, such a lawn care, or a small handyman business, but if you do not have a large skill base and prefer the indoors to the outdoors then starting a cleaning business can be for you.
My wife and myself own a cleaning business and when we first got started we chose to start office cleaning, business was great.  The reason for this was we preferred to work in the evenings and early mornings, giving us our days for other things.
The number one thing you need when you first start is clients.  And to get clients you have to have persistence and drive.  This normally will come from having a desire to succeed.  If you do not have this desire then turning on the TV or going out with friends will be much too easy.  But with this desire you can push through and build a small cleaning company.  And from there who knows what can happen.  You just have to wake up and get starting cleaning.  Business will come!
If you start your own cleaning business today you could walk away from your regular job in under a year.  Yes, it can really be just that easy.  Imagine you have just 10 clients, each of those 10 clients need your cleaning services once every one to two weeks for 3 hours each.  At $25 per hour that is $25K per year for only about 20 hours of work per week.  And commercial is higher than that, and finding people to help you clean is easier than any other business.  There are many people that would like to work just 5 hours per week.
Good luck with your new cleaning business!
