Good Style is the Jeans and Shoes Package

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Baggy jeans as loose fitting jeans I can understand. They look and feel comfortable. I cannot understand the extreme baggy jeans look, if that is what it is, when there is absolutely no connection between body size and clothes size. Baggy jeans, at least the way they used to be, were not ridiculously huge but just big enough to feel comfortable on you. The idea was that if you look comfortable, you feel comfortable, and people feel comfortable looking at you. But the baggy jeans of today are just ridiculous. I have seen baggy men’s jeans so big that people wearing them have to constantly hold onto them around the belt. If they let go, the jeans will fall down around their ankles. I have seen baggy women’s jeans that are made so large, and styled in such a way, that you cannot tell whether they are jeans or a denim skirt. How would you wear carhartt work pants?

The style and type of footwear that a man wears usually depends on several factors. The first and proabably most important is what he does for a living. If a man has a job that requires him to dress in corporate wear everyday he’s going to invest in more pairs of dress shoes than a man who wears a suit on ocassionan. Some men find a loafer more appealing than a traditional shoe with a shoelace. For a more casual look loafers are perfect. They simply slip on and off and can be worn from a business meeting to the grocery store. On the other hand, asics gel cumulus are a new and trendy look for almost everything other than dress up.

The perfect outfit is not just a matter of the right skirt, the right blouse, the right necklace, or the right barrette in your hair. The right outfit is about all of these, and at the same time it is about none of them. It is about every piece of fashion that you wear, and the way that they all fit together. It is not about where your outfit starts, but about where it ends. And the place that most dressy outfits end is with a pair of high heel shoes. For men it could be a pair of boat shoes. Finish your outfit with the right shoes. What would you wear with wide width womens shoes?

The Foxhound Dog Breed

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Foxhounds were the original canine breeds in Great Britain to come under the domination of scientific breeding. There were hounds of more ancient origin, e.g., the Southern Hound and the Bloodhound; but a different breed was wanted towards the end of the 17th century to hunt the wild deer that had become somewhat scattered after Cromwell’s civil war.

The demand was therefore for a quicker hound than those previously known, and people devoted to the chase began to breed it.

Here are the characteristics of this breed:

Head:-

Somewhat broad, not peaked like the Bloodhound, but long from the apex to the frontal bones, eyebrows very prominent, cheeks cut clean from the eye to the nostril, low set ears and, in their natural condition, thin and shapely, but not large, nose large, level and strong jaw, and small dewlaps, and fierce expression.

Eyes:-

Very bright and deeply set, full of determination, and with a very steady expression. The look of the Foxhound is very remarkable.

Neck:-

Should be perfectly clean, no skin ruffle whatever. The length of neck is important, both for stooping and giving an air of majesty.

Shoulders:-

The blades should be well into the back, and should slant, otherwise be wide and strong, to meet the arms, that should be long and powerful.

Legs and feet:-

The bone should be perfectly straight from the arm downward, and descend in the same degree of size to the ankles. The knee should be almost flat and level; there should be no curve until coming to the toes, which should be very strong, round, cat-shaped, and every toe clean set as it were.

Coat:-

The coat is hard hair, but short and smooth, the texture is as stiff as bristles, but beautifully laid.

Colour:-

Belvoir tan, which is brown and black, perfectly intermixed, with white markings of various shapes and sizes. The white should be very opaque and clear. Black and white, with tan markings on head and stifles. Badger pied a kind of grey and white. Lemon pied, light yellow and white. Hare pied, a darker yellow and white.

Height:-

Dogs from 23-1/2 to 24 inches; bitches from 22 to 22-1/2 inches.
